About

I've had a long, intermittent relationship with clay for over 20 years, but in the past 5 years, I've become fully dedicated.
I create all my pottery in my home garage studio on Waterfall Road in Raumati South, Paraparaumu.
My pieces are designed for everyday use, reflecting my love of simple shapes and bright colors, with a preference for white and clear glazes to highlight the clay's texture.
For the past 3 years, I've participated in the Kapiti Coast Art trails, showcasing and selling my work while connecting with fellow pottery enthusiasts.

I hope you enjoy using my pieces as much as I enjoy making them!

My husband and I took Sallie’s 4 week beginner class and really enjoyed her style of teaching about the basics of wheel and hand building with what felt like total creative freedom to try our hands at whatever moved us. And she was so patient and helpful when we needed extra support (especially me). Looking forward to taking another class soon.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've just finished my second four-class beginner's pottery wheel course with Sally Heggie. Her small personalised classes offer great individual guidance; even the initial classes gave me results to be proud of. And we had fun! ...Yay! Can't wait to see how the new work went. I did a bit of glazing experimentation with Sally's guidance. [Photos are 1. latest course pre-final-firing of my glazed bowls (fingers crossed!), 2. pre-glaze, 1st-fired work from the three of us; and 3. my glazed finished plates - course one.]

Just driving to Sally’s place opens you up to wonderful views to inspire your creativity. You get a lot of choice to make what you like as Sally very patiently teaches you the beginning of pottery and working with clay. Lots of fun. I’ll be back.

With her guidance and teaching on and off the wheel I’ve made some awesome pieces.  I would totally recommend Sally’s classes to anyone. The options for creativity are endless.
